My painting Sleigh Ride won Best of Show at the 27th Annual Holiday Membership Exhibition in Gallery 110 North, inside the Plymouth Arts Center. The exhibition with artwork from 78 member artists will be up until Friday, January 13, 2023.

Lori Beringer, judge’s statement: Can you hear it? Swish, thump cold wind, sun shining. I am transported with all my senses and imagining. A confident hand, bold and masterfully creating depth, bursting the subject forward out of its framed existence! The shadowed path and grasses describe the typography beautifully. Music in paint. Harmony in shapes and color. Visual made into poetry!

Join us for a festive holiday open house and artist reception Friday, December 3, 2021 from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm at Gallery 110 North, Plymouth Arts Center, 520 E. Mill Street, Plymouth, Wisconsin. Best of Show, First through Third Place and Merit Awards will be presented. The Robert Heuel Award will be presented to an artist who displays exceptional skill in his/her chosen path. Complimentary appetizers and desserts and cash bar. Entertainment courtesy of Mary Fellenz, piano and Elizabeth Daniels, Carper, piano.

Jane’s photograph Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta and my painting Richardson Wooden Boat are in the 26th Annual Holiday Membership Exhibition from November 26, 2021 to January 14, 2022.

Juror is Donald Urness, owner of Old Town Hall Studio and Gallery in Belgium, Wisconsin. Although mostly a handmade paper artist he has also worked with digital art, ceramics, sculpture, and drawing.

Plymouth Holiday Membership Exhibition

I did this painting in Coulans-sur-Gee, France while I was staying at a gite for a week. The brilliant red poppies called out to me to paint them.

Poppy Field in France will be on exhibit at the 23rd Annual Holiday Membership show at Gallery 110 North, Plymouth from December 7, 2018 – January 25 2019. Admission is free.

Opening Reception Friday, December 7, 2018 4:30 pm – 7:30 pm. Over 88 artists. Complimentary refreshments and cash bar. Piano music by Mary Fellanz and Andrew Krueger.

The judge Joye Moon is an artist, educator, and author of Exploring Textures in Watercolor. She has taught over 200 watercolor workshops.

Best of Show First through Third Place and Merit Awards will be presented at 6:30 pm.

I will be painting in Plymouth and Sheboygan Falls and nearby rural areas every day til September 26.

I will be posting my locations on my Facebook page so you can come join me.

Then come to the free Gala Reception at the Plymouth Arts Center in Plymouth on Friday, September 28 from 6 pm til 9 pm to see all the paintings that artists have painted from this competition. Live music free appetizers and a cash bar.

Paintings will be on exhibit until October 13.

A Holiday Membership Exhibition

Maywood Maples

Maywood Maples was painted in October 2016 in the maple forest in Maywood, Elwood H May Environmental Park, Sheboygan, Wisconsin.  Each spring these trees are tapped to gather sap to make maple syrup.

Maywood Maples will be on exhibit at Gallery 110 North, 520 E Mill Street, Plymouth  for the Holiday Membership Exhibition show.  The opening Reception is Friday, December 2, 2016 from  4:30 pm –  7 pm.  Complimentary refreshments, live music, cash bar.  The exhibit will be up from December 2 – January 20, 2017.  Gallery hours are Tuesday – Friday   10 am – 4 pm.  Saturday and Sunday noon – 3 pm.  Closed Monday and holidays.  Admission is free.

J Gregory Vadney, Executive Director of the Rahr-West Art Museum in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, is the judge for the exhibition.  Vadney also served a five year tenure as Director of the Stickley Museum of Decorative Arts in New York.  Best of Show, First, Second, and Third Place, and Merit Awards will be presented.  The Robert Heuel O.P.A. Water’s Edge Artists is an alliance of plein air artists dedicated to artistically recording historic, endangered or threatened places.

Water’s Edge Artists meet monthly to creatively capture both celebrated and humble environmental or historically significant treasures.

The group engages with one another and the public, both as individuals and as a whole, through collaboration with and financial support of local environmental and historic preservation stewardship organizations.

Through these joint efforts, WEA endeavors to stimulate awareness of the need to protect and celebrate our unique, precious and essential natural resources and historic places.

18th Annual Holiday Membership Art Exhibit

My painting Enjoy the Day won the Second Place Award  at the Gallery 110 North 18th Annual Holiday Membership Art Exhibit.  530 E Mill Street, Plymouth.   December 6, 2013 – January 24, 2014.  Admission is always free.

Artist Bonnita Budysz was the judge for this exhibit. Budysz is a nationally awarded painter whose works are exhibited in the United States and abroad, an art instructor, and an avid artist/activist with organizations such as Waters Edge Artists who endorse Painting for Preservation.  Her paintings consistently garner prestigious awards at the American Impressionist Society, Oil Painters of America, and the Pastel Society of the West Coast  As founder of the ecologically sensitive plein air painting group, Water’s Edge Artists, she continues to champion conservation issues.

The exhibit sponsors are Bank First National and Paul and Kathy Sartori.

The Plymouth Arts Center, the premier arts destination for residents of Western Sheboygan,  showcases the original work of Wisconsin artists.  A wide range of media is displayed with exhibition changes six times each year, including an annual juried exhibition, “Alive in the Arts”.  Plymouth Arts Center Gift Shop features fine art gifts made by members
